Trutime - ‘Time is to be felt’
‘Trutime’ redefines time as something that can be felt, while accommodating the modern-day measures of time (24 hours, 60 minutes, 60 seconds etc).
Time is an important concept which has played a critical role in the advancement of human civilization. Early men perceived time by looking at cues from their immediate surroundings, like the position of sun or moon, length of shadows etc. As our civilization progressed, time became a precious commodity and the need to extract it in a more finer, measurable format grew.
At some point in history, time was defined as a mathematical unit which could be measured accurately. Various formats were created, but the current analogue format of 12 hours with two needles became the most popular. Though people learned how to read time on this format, we believe the most of the perceptible qualities of time vanished from our clocks. Time has transformed into a mathematical scale, rather than something that can be felt. There are times where mathematical accuracy matters - for instance, while trying to reach the airport before the gate closes. For most of our life, we just need to grasp how much time is remaining for an activity.
A normal 24 hour circle has day and night, the slice of each being distributed between a sun-rise and a sun-set. Day is on the upper half, night on the bottom half. There is a single pointer which shows where you are with respect to the day or night.
‘Trutime’ always depict time with reference to sunrise and sunset (accurately calculated from the Atomic Clock data) of the user’s location.Trutime also includes a classic digital clock for those moments which need precise reference.
Trutime also integrates Calendar events, highlighted on the outer rim of the clock.
